Life on Earth is cyclical – governed by day-night cycles, the moon and annually, with seasons. Many aspects of modern life can conceal the seasons of our planet: Central heating can mask the coldness of winter or watching a screen can mean you miss the bloom in Spring. It is important then to actively acknowledge the season we’re in and embrace each with the gifts they bring. Many difficulties in life arise from resisting the flow of the natural course – for example, it can be difficult to buy fruit out of season, they may not be fully grown and they may be more expensive. Eckhart Tolle said “Move with the flow. Don’t fight the current. Resist nothing. Let life carry you. Don’t try to carry it.” This page, then, is my annual planner for the outdoors, nature and produce.
