Nobody likes paying for parking and perhaps another reason why Chesterfield is one of the happiest places to live – residents get free parking. The difficulty is the council doesn’t provide a map – no worries, I got your back.
Every year, households in Chesterfield get a free Chesterfield borough residents’ parking permit that runs April to March. You have to display it in your car window and you get free parking before 11:00 or after 15:00 Mon – Sat or all day on Sundays and bank holidays at certain car parks. The only difficulty is that while there is a list of roads, there’s no map of where the car parks are. I asked the council for a map but they were unable to provide one and after a couple of years, I’ve bitten the bullet and made one.
