Deleting the Windows 10 Pagefile

I’ve been running out of space on my boot drive, a 250 GB SSD, but I’m reluctant to upgrade it with another SSD because I am overhauling my system shortly and will go NVMe rather than SATA. However, it does mean I have to keep on top of things so I don’t get the dreaded error about scratch disks being full in Photoshop. One of those things is the enormous pagefile.sys that Windows keeps generating.

Xbox 360 Xbox Live Port Forwarding

I was having a few issues with games and chat on the Xbox 360. The device should use uPnP for port forwarding but this was problematic for me. Firstly I needed to setup the games console with an IP address that would stay the same so I did this in the router’s settings so that DHCP always assigned the same IP to the MAC address of the console.

Hide a User from the Windows XP Welcome Screen

This will prevent the user from showing up on the welcome screen. You will need to press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice at the logon screen to get the old W2K logon style box to be able to logon to the account you’ve hidden. Adding a username and setting the value to 1 will cause that user, such as Administrator, to show up on the Welcome screen as well.
